Milonga del Cielo in February-Chacarera, Chinese New Year, Candombe!!!

Milonga del Cielo has some wonderful Tuesdays in store for you this month.

Tuesday Feb 9
8:30PM SPECIAL CHACARERA CLASS
Come and learn this beautiful Argentine folkloric dance from an expert. You'll never have to sit out the chacarera again. And if you've already had some lessons - come and brush up your chacarera with this special class taught by Genoveva Baez. Genoveva started dancing folklore at age of 10 and by the age of 15 she was already part of a traveling dancing group.
Participated many times in tv shows as well as in the international fiesta de la Vendimia in Mendoza Argentina.
She taught folklore in different private schools in Argentina.
The class will be one hour and inbetween the tangos, valses, y milongas, we will dance many chacareras (and Genoveva will dance a samba for us too).

Chinese New Year Milonga
Wear your Qipao / Cheongsam or wear RED for good luck for the New Year. Ivy will have Special Chinese feast for the New Year and even some Chinese tangos along with our Argentine favorites!

It's time once again for Cielo's "Let's Pretend it's SUMMER" Milonga. Last year we took you to Hawaii with authentic hula performance & you tango'd with tiki gods & live Hawaiian swing cortinas. This year we're going to the steamy hot jungles of Africa and the sexy beaches of Uruguay to learn about an ancient beat that heralded the birth of tango.
Live Candombe performance from Uruguay. Live drumming cortinas and show with Arturo Prendez. Featuring Tambor Piano, Tambor Chico y Tambor Repique!!!
