Tango is My Drug of Choice

in 1984, i gave up cocaine. in 2005, i gave up smoking. in 2006, i gave up sugar. the only thing i crave for these days is Argentine Tango. i realized today that i hadn't danced since new year's eve. i was cranky, moody, agitated, and after 4 days ~ i definitely needed a fix! i went to La Nacional and had my first vals with allah. she spells it alla, but we may as well add the H because to dance with her is Divine. i got all but one of the russian ladies in my arms tonight and then moved on to the men. the milonga ended on a blissful note dancing to di Sarli with the ever elusive diego. hadn't seen him in over a year. a nuclear physicist or something to that effect. doesn't go out much. spends lots of time in his lab. we go back to the old days. ten years ago. first Argentine to give me that kind of tranced out fix. he's still got the goods. a great strain, a potent mix. intoxicating injection of tango that left this junkie satisfied ~ no longer wandering streets of the night but home in bliss until the next craving hits. tonight was
